Lets get down to brass tacks.

You are a human living on planet earth, circa 2013.

You want to BE healthy.

You want to FEEL awesome

You want to be FREE from fatigue.

You've tried many things, but there is still a gap between the you envisioned in your mind's eye and the you that actually exists.

It is possible, and it can start with some awareness of the bigger picture:

Fact: Diet and fitness is a 60 Billion industry.

Now not to get all mythologically Greek on you, but we find it useful to think of it as an evil hydra with multiple heads, all vying for your attention and ultimately, your money.

Now of course the industry isn't wholly evil, the intentions of some individuals within the industry may very well be pure and noble, but if everyone knew the secret I'm about to reveal, then revenues for the most current ab-roller-ball-widget on QVC or the latest berry harvested from somewhere deep within the Amazon basin would FLATLINE.

And that wouldn't be good for business.

A multi-billion dollar industry would take a huge hit.

Our healthcare problems would be solved.

Humanity:1 Industry: 0

The secret is really no secret at all, and its dead simple.

"We are what we repeatedly do."

-Aristotle

He was right, and he was talking about habits.

The things we do:

EVERY...SINGLE....DAY.

Not the the impulse purchases we make after having our buttons pushed by savvy marketing or some late night infomercial.

Not the agony and the ecstasy of ill fated New Years Resolutions that have become a running joke because we all know those who stick with them are in the tiny minority.

All are quick fixes, all are erroneous.

None of those, but simple habit change. A breaking of the cycles we have locked ourselves into, a tweaking of the things we do every day, so that healthy results are compounded over time.

And it starts in this place.

In his book The Power of Habit, author Charles Duhigg explains the science behind why we do what we do.

It turns out habits are localized in the brain. Every single one of our habits corresponds with a network of neural connections.

When we learn a new skill, most of the brain activity takes place in the prefrontal cortex. Once we have it down, the habit is then offloaded to a part of the brain known as the basal ganglia.

The reason for this is that the prefrontal cortex is an energy hog, burning through more of the brain's fuel of choice, glucose, than any other part of the brain.

The basal ganglia gets much better fuel mileage, so it takes over once the hard work of learning a new activity is done.

A habit consists of a cue, an activity and a reward.

Cues can be contextual, visual, situational.

Its that cupboard you can never resist grabbing a cookie out of on your way from the dining room to the living room. Its that drive in burger place that beckons you everyday on your afternoon commute.

We’ve all been there.

Because these cues are everywhere, but especially in our homes, experts who study these things tell us that the best time to change habits is while on vacation because a new place has far fewer of the old cues that spur your bad habits....but, really, who wants do that?

Vacation is supposed to be a time for eating and maybe drinking as much as you possibly can, right?

Of course, thats what another industry, the tourism industry wants you to think. Its in that industry’s best interest if you think of vacation time as eating and drinking time. Why do you think cruises are so popular :-)

You often come back 5 pounds heavier, ready to meet the challenges of work and life with renewed capacity for FATIGUE. What could have been a time of renewal and healing becomes just another hedonist extravaganza wherein you inch a little closer to mortality.

But what if you could flip the script?

What if you could leverage the power of a new place that doesn't have any of the old cues, and change your life?

What if you could do it in an incredible environment that inspires you.

What if you could have people cheering you on?

What if you could combine it all with access to the latest information derived from the most cutting edge scientific research from fields as diverse as neuroscience and nutrition?

You already have a WHY, you need a HOW and a WHAT.

If this experience interests you, i
f you are interested in leveraging the incredible power of place for lifelong healthy habit changes, let me know and we will tailor a package to fit your needs.

Hope to hear from you soon.
